National Library Week, Part 3

-This week is National Library Week.Jo Ann Gustavson, the Neillsville Public Library Director, told me about the library's impressive circulation numbers.
She said, "In 2014, our total circulation was over 51,000 items. Items we received form other libraries for our patrons was about 11,000. And the items that we've sent to other libraries was roughly 6,200. So, we do receive more than we send out. But it's still a good program and we now have just over 1,800 patrons. That's just the ones that got cards from our library. That doesn't include all the other counties."
"This past year has been really exciting for us. In December, we received the Mead Witter Foundation Grant of $5,000. And that has, and will, enable us to purchase folding chairs for our library programs, books, DVDs and audio books."
Coming up on Thursday, Jo Ann will talk about some of the other purchases they've made thanks to the support of the library foundation.
