Local FFA Members Will Be Honored During Organization's State Convention in June

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Some of the top FFA members in Wisconsin will be honored this summer in Madison during the organization's state convention.This week, the Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin FFA Center announced its candidates for the 'Stars Over Wisconsin' awards--which include finalists for the Star Farmer Award, Star in Ag Placement, Star in Agribusiness and Star in Agriscience.
Some local FFA members in the running for Star Farmer this year are Jade Pinter of Owen-Withee and Ashley Zimmerman of Spencer. Local students nominated for Star in Ag Placement include Emily Gilbertson of Marshfield and Ashley Zimmerman of Spencer. Finalists for the Star in Agribusiness competition include Kenny Pettit of Granton.
Each of the candidates will receive a plaque, with the top winners of each award also earning cash prizes. The finalists were selected according to the amount of money earned in their Supervised Agricultural Experience Program. The Wisconsin FFA Convention will be held at the Alliant Energy Center on June 16-18.
