Closer Look at Some State and Local Election Results

-The state of Wisconsin has voted to change the way the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is selected.

53% of Wisconsinites approve of changing the selection of the Chief Justice by having the individual selected for a two year term by the other justices serving as opposed to the longest serving justice which is used now. Ann Walsh Bradley was re-elected to the Supreme Court with 58% of voters choosing her over James Daley who had 42% of the votes.

Taking a look at some local races, the new comers challenging long term board members of the Greenwood School District have won their respective races. Pam Delo won against Jerome Krempasky with 336 votes to 224. Roger Sonnentage lost against Dean Lindner, 254 votes to 344.

Thomas Nelson was selected as Owen's new mayor over Patrick Pfeffer, 223 votes to 72. The residents of the Thorp area have selected their two school board members out of the four candidates. The winners are Judy Smriga and Ty Schneider with 326 and 289 votes respectively. They won over Dan Schultze and Brian Fitzl who had 249 and 175 votes respectively. Jackson County has also selected their judge. Anna Becker won over Daniel Diehn, 2,419 votes to 2,174.
