Name of Man Killed in Jackson County Apartment Fire Released

-The name of the man killed in an apartment fire in Jackson County has been released.According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, the fire happened at an assisted living center in Taylor on Tuesday around 1:30am. The fire started in the apartment of 79-year-old Richard Dixon. An autopsy determined he died of injuries related to smoke and fire exposure.
The other people living in the home were rescued by fire crews and they are being assisted by the Red Cross. The Sheriff's Department said the death and the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but the cause is under investigation.
