Jackson County Sheriff's Department Investigating Fatal Apartment Fire

-The Jackson County Sheriff's Department is looking into an apartment fire that left one person dead.The fire happened at an assisted living center in Taylor on Tuesday around 1:30am. The fire started in the apartment of a 76-year-old. His name has not been released at this time.
The other people living in the home were rescued by fire crews and they are being assisted by the Red Cross. The Sheriff's Department said the death and the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but the cause is under investigation.
