Two Human Trafficking Suspects Arrested in Eau Claire County

Two human trafficking suspects were arrested in Eau Claire County on Wednesday.

According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department, early Wednesday morning a citizen reported seeing a woman walking on County Road H between Fairchild and Stanley.

When deputies arrived, the woman, Catherine Ottinger, was lying in the ditch.  She then told authorities that she and Mark Scoville had been living in a tent on someone’s property near County Road H in Chippewa County.

Scoville is facing human trafficking charges and other offenses after an investigation that occured in Fairchild.  Ottinger has also been charged.
