Semi Fire in Spencer

-A semi caught fire in Spencer on Thursday afternoon.Around 12:30 on Thursday, the semi was heading down Highway 13 when the driver said he smelled smoke while going through Spencer. He pulled onto South Park Avenue and he and a passenger were able to escape.
The Spencer Fire Department responded to the fire and had it extinguished in about 30 minutes. The Spencer Police Department and Marathon County Sheriff's Department responded to the incident as well.
Authorities believe the fire started in the sleeper area of the truck and spread, but they're going to continue the investigation. The truck had just left a maintenance shop. There was significant damage to the semi before the fire could be put out.
