Public Works Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

Saturday, December 13th, 2014 -- 7:29 AM

-The Neillsville City Council heard the public work report during the public works portion of the meeting on Tuesday.

The usual amount of work has been done in the city including snow removal, equipment maintenance, hauling brush and compost, burning brush piles, picking up brush and debris from the gutters, and more.

Also, Public Works Director Dave Flynn noted that leave pick up is complete for the year. He did add, however, that if they missed a big pile somewhere, you can call the department and they will try to pick them up.

Finally, Dave said that they are maintaining the Christmas Decorations and Mayor Steve Mabie added that he's heard a lot of compliments on the lights. Dave also said that recycling is down in the city and he asks that people continue to recycle because the city receives a grant worth $10,000-$12,000 from the DNR for recycling. If the amount recycled drops below a certain point, the city could lose that money.
