Osseo Woman Sentenced for the Death of 22-Month-Old

-A 23-year-old Osseo woman was sentenced for the death of a 22-month-old girl.Back in June of 2013, police responded to a medical emergency call about Alexis Behlke, being unresponsive. 23-year-old Amanda Butts had been watching the girl, her boyfriend's daughter, that morning. Behlke was rushed to Mayo Health System Osseo, but was pronounced dead a short while later.
The Osseo Police arrested Butts at the end of July. According to the criminal complaint, Behlke died from acute intoxication from the combined effects of oxycodone, an antihistamine and an anti-depressant. Investigators found bruises on the child's body, and blunt force trauma to her head, chest, arms, and legs.
During a plea hearing back in August, Butts was found guilty, due to a guilty plea, of 1st degree reckless homicide and was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of physical abuse of a child. Butts was sentenced to 30 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision on Thursday.
