Granton School Board Approves Changes to District Policies

-The Granton School Board approved changes to some of the District's policies at their Monday meeting.The school board approved the second reading of Chapter 9, Section KA, Physical Education Credit Substitution and they approved the first reading of the Technical Excellence Scholarship policy.
The board approved administrative proposals to change the language in the "General Leave" section of the employee handbook and they approved the administrative proposals to add language in the Employee handbook outlining the use of social media.
The board also discussed scheduling a special meeting to review and discuss the progress of the Common Core. A representative from Wisconsin Association of School Boards will be invited to help lead the discussion.
Finally, the school board directed the administrative team to investigate the need for a transition school and develop a program that would support and successfully transition at-risk students as they enter the school system.
