State Fire Marshals Unofficially Rule Cause of Buck's Dollar Bar Fire as Undetermined

Wednesday, December 10th, 2014 -- 11:51 AM

-During Neillsville's City Council meeting on Tuesday evening, Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann reported that he was told what the ruling was on the fire at Buck's Dollar Bar in Neillsville.

During Chief Klueckmann's Officer's Report, he said that he was reluctant to release the information as he has not received the official report from the 3 State Fire Marshals investigating the case, but he has been in contact with them and they told him that the cause of the fire is being ruled as undetermined. This means they can't determine that the fire was accidental and they can't determine it was arson. They said that no accelerant was detected.

Back in October, the Clark County Sheriff's Department Dispatch Center received a call just before 6:30am on Sunday morning of a structure fire at Buck's. The Neillsville Fire Department was dispatched to extinguish the flames and they received mutual aid from Granton, Loyal, Greenwood and Spencer. Officers from the Clark County Sheriff's Department and Neillsville Police Department provided scene security and traffic direction. No one was hurt in the incident.

It was also mentioned during the Public Works portion of the meeting on Tuesday, that the process of tearing down the building should begin soon.
