Twizzard at Mall of America Thanksgiving Weekend

-If you were shopping in the Mall of America over the Thanksgiving weekend, then you probably got to experience the Mall's "Twizzard."The Twizzard was a "snowfall," it was actually just soap and water, triggered by Tweets from shoppers. In order for the snow to fall, the mall asked Twitter users to send 1,000 messages with the #Twizzard during the Thanksgiving weekend. If they were successful, the lights would change, Let it Snow would play and the snow would come down.
The campaign was very effective for the mall with the term #Twizzard trending to number 1 in Minneapolis that weekend. The Twizzard tweets reached around 43 million people, according to preliminary numbers.
The Twizzard was so well received that the mall lowered the threshold to trigger it down to 500 and 300 tweets. Many people enjoyed the faux flurries falling on their heads while they did their shopping.
