Man Found Dead at Home in Black River Falls

-A 40-year-old man was found dead at a private residence in Black River Falls on Sunday evening.According to the Black River Falls Police Department, they received a report, around 5:45pm, of a deceased body at a home in the city. When they arrived, they found a 40-year-old man lying face down in a bedroom of the home. The investigating officer checked for signs of life, but found none. He determined that the body may have been lying in that room for 8-12 hours before being discovered.
Evidence was collected at the scene and it included several pieces of drug paraphernalia and a white powdery substance in a piece of tin foil. Field testing showed the substance might be heroin.
There is no sign of foul play in the incident and authorities are treating the incident as a drug overdose. The body will undergo a medical examination for exact cause of death and the name of the victim is being withheld at this time.
