Clark County Board of Supervisors Hears Update on Emergency Communication System Upgrade, Part 2

Friday, November 14th, 2014 -- 9:32 AM

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard an update on the county's Emergency Communication System Upgrade.

Clark County Emergency Management Director John Ross said the county is looking into working with the Chippewa Valley Internetworking Consortium on the project. CINC is a regional Community Area Network formed in 1999 that is committed to "Broadband Serving the Public Interest," according to their website.

CINC also coordinates regional communication infrastructure projects with city, county and state government, educational institutions, libraries, hospitals, health care, nonprofits and technology providers to facilitate network creation that is innovative, competitive and sustainable.

John said the county is looking at working with CINC because they're looking to expand their partnership and network capabilities in Clark County which would provide a possible option for connecting Clark County sites proposed in the new communication system.
