Owen-Withee School Board Approves Policy Series and Handbook Changes

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved the 2nd reading of a policy series and approved some handbook changes at their Monday meeting.The board discussed the revised 700 series of policies that deal with Support Services. The board voted unanimously to approve the 700 series, which makes them district policy effective immediately.
The board also discussed handbook changes for future support staff hires who work less than 30 hours per week. This item, tabled at the October meeting, was brought back for further discussion at this meeting.
The motion that was made was, "Any support staff person who was hired after September 1st, 2014, who works less than 30 hours per week will not be eligible for the district healthcare benefits." The motion was unanimously approved. This change will be made to the support staff hand book and go into effect immediately.
