Wednesday, November 12th, 2014 -- 9:29 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved the 2015 budget and 2014 Tax Levy at the city council meeting on Tuesday.

The public hearing for the budget and levy was held Tuesday, but no community members were present so nothing was said about the budget, except Mayor Steve Mabie thanking the council for their work in putting the budget together and thanking Clerk-Treasurer Rex Roehl for helping them through the process.

The total expenditure and contingency came to $3,402,245, an increase of 5.8%. Total revenues and funds applied came to $2,038,452, an increase of 9%. The Net City Levy came to $1,098,105.

Also during the meeting, the council approved the Dental Insurance Renewal with MetLife. There was a 4% increase, but the city included that in the budget for 2015. The council also approved the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce to use the Gazebo for the Tree Lighting Ceremony in early December.
