House Fire in Pittsville on Saturday

-There was a fire at a Pittsville home on Saturday morning.According to the Pittsville Fire Department, they received a call around 7:40am of a fire at 8211 Jefferson Street. The home was an older home that had been remodeled a number of times, which caused problems for the department in putting out the flames, as there were layers that had to be torn through in order to reach and contain the flames.
The department said the home is a complete loss, but no damage estimates are known at this time. The family that lived at the residence was not home at that time and nobody was injured. The department said the fire was accidental, originating in the attic with the electrical system.
The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
