Former Marshfield Man Discovered on Facebook was Sentenced for Drug Charges After Being on the Run for 13 Years

Thursday, October 9th, 2014 -- 10:16 AM

-A former Marshfield man, who?s been a fugitive for the past 13 years, was found on Facebook and sentenced in federal court on Wednesday.

40-year-old Raul Olguin and his brother Ismael Olguin Sr. were targets in an undercover drug investigation back in 2000. The brothers were accused of selling cocaine at the Abbyland Food plants.

Isamel was arrested, but Raul, knowing he was a target, had fled to Mexico. He eventually returned to the United States, living in Memphis, Tennessee under various aliases. U.S. Marshals checked Raul?s sister?s Facebook page and noticed pictures of a relative that looked like Raul. Eventually, the marshals picked him up and he admitted that he was Raul Olguin and he had an arrest warrant in Wisconin.

When it was all said and done, when Isamel Olguin was arrested he had been sentenced to 2 year in prison and he was deported back to Mexico. Raul Olguin was sentenced to 18 months in prison and he?s facing deportation as well.
