Car Fire in Marshfield on Monday

-There was a car fire on Veterans Parkway in Marshfield on Monday.According to the Marshfield Fire Department, a car was driving down Veterans Parkway around 2:15 in the afternoon when it struck a jug of flammable liquid that was sitting in the middle of the road. The car punctured the container and the vehicle?s exhaust ignited the fluid.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle and received no injuries. The Marshfield Fire Department doused the blaze, but the car is a total loss. The damage is estimated at $2,000. A hazmat unit also cleaned up the remainder of the jug and liquid.
It?s unclear as to how the jug of flammable liquid ended up in the road.
