Clark County Board of Supervisors Looks at Proposed 2015 Budget, Part 3

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard the proposed 2015 budget for the county on Thursday evening.The Clark County Finance Committee had to look at many different factors in preparing the budget for 2015 including the Public Safety Communication project that the committee, and county, is trying to figure out how to pay for. The county board did approve a resolution that allows that process to begin.
The Finance Committee felt there were still too many question at this time to include the original budget request price of $1,922,205 for the first 4 quarters. The questions included possible partnerships, grant funding, requesting money from the Wisconsin Public Land Trust Fund and more. In the end, the committee left $35,000 in the budget to begin the process until the questions are answered. An amendment could be made to the budget later if more money becomes available.
The county has also begun to plan ahead in preparing for the project, including asking the Forestry and Parks Department to do an accelerated 3 year timber cutting program and reserving a portion of the Forestry and Parks Department?s fund balance.
The budget public hearing, amendments and adoption will take place on November 11th.
