Suspects Arrested in Babcock Area Crime Spree

Two juveniles were taken into custody by the Wood County Sheriff's Department late Thursday afternoon.Earlier in the day, the department responded to several complaints of burglary, criminal damage to property and operating a motor vehicle without the owners consent in the Babcock area. The victims included individuals as well as the businesses of Ocean Spray, Americold, and the Babcock Caf?.
Property loss figures are not yet finalized but are expected to be in excess of $100,000. Losses included damage to vehicles, broken windows, destroyed artwork, damage to walls, loss of food products, and destroyed personal property.
Due to the incident, Ocean Spray has diverted all incoming shipments to its Tomah receiving station through the weekend.
