Clark County Health Department's April 1st COVID Vaccination Clinic Only for 2nd Dose Appointments

Thursday, March 25th, 2021 -- 11:01 AM

At this time, there will not be any 1st dose appointments available for the Clark County Health Department’s Thursday, April 1st COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, so there will not be a 1st dose appointment sign-up tomorrow, Friday, March 26th, at 2:00 PM.

The Thursday, April 1st clinic will only be for 2nd dose appointments. If you are in need of a 2nd dose of your COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna only), please call the COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Line at (715) 743-5105 (Option 9, Option 9).

The next tentative availability for 1st dose appointments will be announced on Monday, April 5th at 2:00pm and not Friday, April 2nd due to the holiday. Those tentative 1st dose appointments will be for a Thursday, April 8th clinic.  Next Thursday’s 2nd does clinic is being held from 10am-3pm at the Owen-Withee-Curtiss Fire District in Curtiss.

For those receiving the 2nd dose on the April 1st clinic, please follow the instructions listed online which includes 4 simple steps including review, complete, and print (if able) the fillable COVID-19 Vaccine Administration Record. (Please consult with your medical provider if needed prior to receiving the vaccine for any questions you may have).

Second, review the Moderna Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Fact Sheet for Recipients.  Third, review the V-Safe Information Handout.  Finally, review FAQ About COVID-19 Vaccination: What Vaccine Recipients Need to Know After Receipt of a COVID-19 Vaccine.

Please bring the following items with you to the vaccination clinic including completed COVID-19 Vaccine Administration Record and, for 2nd Dose Individuals, their Vaccination Record Card (Hard Copy).

Please wear clothing that will easily allow the RN’s to administer the vaccine (t-shirt or a long sleeve that can be easily rolled to the upper arm to gain access to the deltoid muscle).

You will be required to wait in your vehicle for 15 minutes post-vaccination for monitoring purposes.  EMS will be on-site and assisting with the monitoring. Expect a potential wait time. They thank you in advance for your patience.

If you are unable to make your appointment due to inclement weather or personal reasons, or arrive after the clinic hours, you will not be guaranteed your dose.

You will have to schedule another appointment at a future CCHD COVID-19 vaccine clinic or reach out to your local healthcare provider, pharmacy, etc.  As a reminder, those who are planning on receiving their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccination must receive it from the same manufacturer.

Those who receive the Moderna vaccine must wait 28 days from their first vaccination before receiving a second dose, and those who receive the Pfizer vaccine must wait at least 21 days.

CCHD may have limited availability at future drive through clinics due to a combination of 2nd dose administration appointments, staffing capacity, and allotted supply of vaccine. Eligible individuals should watch for future press releases regarding new appointment availability.

Those who do not have access to the internet may call the CCHD vaccine appointment line at 715-743-5105, select option 9, then select option 9 again starting Friday afternoons at 2pm. High call volumes are expected. Calling and leaving a message does not guarantee you an appointment.

The CCHD encourages those who don’t have access to the internet to have a family member or friend monitor online resources.  For those who would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, the CCHD strongly encourages individuals to reach out to their primary healthcare provider or local pharmacy.

For updates on future clinics, eligibility, and other vaccination options, please visit the Clark County vaccine website.
