Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

Friday, September 26th, 2014 -- 8:20 AM

-The Neillsville City Council went over many committee and department reports at their meeting on Tuesday as each department prepares for the city?s 2015 budget.

During the Public Works Portion of the meeting, the council heard that the usual amount of work was done in the city including maintenance, cleaning, mowing, street sweeping, watering and more. The work is also done on the walking path from Apple Valley to the Arboretum, but the ground is too soft right now for the crews to pave it.

Dave Flynn, the Director of Public Works, said that the Grand Avenue Project was done as of Monday. The road was opened to traffic on Thursday afternoon of last week.

The paving crews also complete the bulk of their paving last week on Division Street from BP to Hardees, the south lane; patches city wide; and Hewett by Kwik Trip and Grand Avenue. Four patches remain at 5th and Grand, West 6th Street, Hill, Ayers and, as I mentioned, the Walking Path. Dave is expecting those to be done next week.
