Neillsville City Council Prepares for 2015 Budget Process

-The Neillsville City Council approved several items last night as they begin the process of preparing the 2015 budget for the city.The council approved Paul Wiese Risk Management Services as the city?s insurance consultant for a one-year agreement at a cost of $1,500. This item had been approved at the Finance Committee Meeting held after the Common Council Meeting two weeks ago.
The council also approved the 70% Room Tax Request to the Neillsville Chamber for $500. Back in April of this year, the Tourism Committee approved a $2,500 year-long marketing campaign in the Central Wisconsin TravelHost Magazine. During a Tourism Committee Meeting held two weeks ago, the Neillsville Chamber asked for $500, which would fulfill the contract amount from April.
The grant was then approved by the council, leaving, at the time of the meeting, $148.62 available in the 70% Room Tax Tourism Promotion and Development Fund.
