Wood County Sheriff's Deputies Attacked by Pit Bull

-A Wood County Sheriff?s Deputy shot a pit pull in the City of Marshfield while responding to an unresponsive individual.According to the department, just before 6am on Saturday, they were responding to a complaint of someone passed out on the sidewalk in the 500 block of South Cedar Avenue.
While investigating, a pit bull at large attacked the officers. One of the deputies fired a round at the dog. The dog is still alive, however, and in stable condition.
The Marshfield Police Department will be following up with the dog?s owner to ensure adequate safety measures are implemented.
