Representative Kulp's Listening Session in Neillsville, Part 1

Friday, September 12th, 2014 -- 10:14 AM

-Representative of the 69th district, Bob Kulp, was in Neillsville on Thursday afternoon for a listening session.

There were many items talked about with the residents that were in attendance at the event including transportation, the economy, the possible deficit with the next state budget, education and more.

In terms of the estimated deficit with the next state budget, Representative Kulp said that the figures are not solid enough yet to make that claim. He said that as a business owner, he wouldn?t make a budget three years out, so doing so for the state of Wisconsin leaves a lot of numbers estimated and up in the air. He said there?s a lot of time to fix the issues.

He also stated that, all too often, budgets are used in politics to ?beat up on the other guy.? When asked if he felt the state would need to pass a budget repair bill to fix the issues, Representative Kulp said he didn?t see that happening.
