Neillsville's District Administrator Highlighted Budget Numbers at the Annual Meeting

Friday, August 29th, 2014 -- 10:48 AM

-The Neillsville School Board held its Annual Meeting on Monday night.

There are several numbers that District Administrator John Gaier highlighted in the multi-page booklet regarding the district?s budget. Keep in mind, that some of the figures for the 2014-2015 school year are estimated until Neillsville is told how much state aid they?ll receive. This will take place after the 3rd Friday count in October.

Money coming in from taxes for the next school year will come in at $3,425,139 and the total amount of money coming in from local sources for the next school year will be $3,531,694.
Mr. Gaier also pointed out $70,000 the district is estimating in receiving in Medical Services Reimbursement. Mr. Gaier said the district has been very aggressive in collecting those funds. Last year, the district brought in $72,638 for that purpose.

The District estimated that they?ll receive $5,799,103 in state aid this year. Mr. Gaier also pointed out the $275,000 SAGE Grant the district will receive. This grant helps keep class sizes small in Kindergarten and 1st grade so students can get one-on-one time with the teachers, receive extra help in a subject they may be struggling with and it helps get students off to a good start in school.
