Spencer Police Officer Receives Citation After Accident

-The Spencer Police Officer, involved in a crash on Friday night of last week was given a citation.According to the Marathon County Sheriff?s Department, the Spencer officer was going to assist the Sheriff?s Department with a crash that occurred in the Village of Unity on Highway 13.
However, as he was on his way, the officer collided with another car at the intersection of South Pacific Avenue and East Clark Street in Spencer. Both the officer and the driver of the car he hit were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say the officer tried to avoid the crash, but still hit the other vehicle. He received a citation for deviating from the designated lane.
