Neighbors First, Inc. Holding Special Event on Saturday

-Neighbors First, Inc. is holding a special event this Saturday from 10am to 5pm at N3656 Fairview Avenue in Humbird.Neighbors First, Inc. is a non-profit Wisconsin organization. According to the group, their goal is to preserve the rural character of the area, as well as to further uphold the rights of citizens to clean air, clean water, and in general quality of life they presently enjoy.
One of the main issues they?re concerned about is the increase in sand mining. They worry about the possible health risks and destruction of land that could accompany any mine built in the area.
At their event on Saturday, they?ll have informational booths on silica sand air monitoring, health issues related to sand mining and discuss risk factors, geography of sand to be mined in the Town of Cleveland and Conservation Congress information.
They?ll also have a silent auction to raise funds for their cause.
