Owen-Withee School Board Hears Administrator's Reports at Recent Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the administrator?s reports at their recent meeting.District Administrator Bob Houts presented the board with the revised Electronic Devise Use Policy developed by a group of Jr/Sr high staff members. The policy, which appears in the student handbook, allows for more use of student owned devices, especially during lunch time. The policy revisions will go to the policy committee for review and approval and will be brought to the full board in June for first reading.
He reported that at the Teacher Recognition Banquet held on May 7th Peggy Goerlitz was named Elementary Teacher of the Year and Barb Finkelson was named Jr/Sr High Teacher of the Year.
The board also heard several policy committee reports. The Buildings and Grounds Committee set a meeting date and time. They met Monday, May 19th at 4:00PM and walked around the property and looked at potential maintenance projects for the summer.
The Policy Committee also set a date and time to meet which was Wednesday, May 14th at 9:30am. They reviewed the Student Use of Electronic Devises policy and the 600 Series of policies.
