Body of Missing Canoeist Found

Altoona Police have recovered the body of a canoeist who has been missing since Thursday.

The body was recovered Saturday afternoon about 2 and a half miles downstream from the Altoona Dam in the Eau Claire River.

The victim was identified as 21 year old Karter Riley Fitzgerald of Wausau.

The body was spotted by a fisherman who called 911 early in the afternoon.
