Former Abbotsford Auto Parts Store Employee Pleads Not Guilty to Theft of the Business

Thursday, May 22nd, 2014 -- 8:16 AM

-A former employee from an Abbotsford auto parts store entered a not guilty plea in Clark County Court on Wednesday for theft of the store he was employed with.

According to investigators, 51-year-old Kirk Kalepp stole close to $70,000 from the business. The incident happened over six years with various amounts taken from 2008 up to 2014. Kalepp would falsify return slips and pocket the money. Kalepp has been charged with theft of a business setting.

The NAPA Auto Parts Store contacted the Abby Police Department in December, concerned that this was happening. A surveillance video showed Kalepp taking the money out of the drawer when the other employees were not around.

Kalepp did admit to the crime, saying he needed the money for credit card debt and medical bills. After entering a not guilty plea to the charge, Kalepp also requested a judge substitution. His $5,000 signature bond was continued.
