Former Neillsville Resident Appears in Clark County Court for Sexual Assault Charges

-A former Neillsville resident has been charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child.According to the criminal complaint, a 45-year-old man, currently incarcerated in the Brown County Jail for the assault of the same person he?s being charged for here in Clark County, sexually abused a relative, on multiple occasions, during the 4 years they lived in Neillsville. The relative was just 5 or 6 years old when the abuse started.
Here in Clark County, the defendant has been charged with two counts of repeated sexual assault of a child. If convicted and sentenced to the maximum amount in this case, he could face a total of 120 years in prison.
The man is sitting in the Brown County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond, but an additional $25,000 cash bond was requested, and approved, for Clark County. The man has been charged with sexual assault of a child, repeated sexual assault of a child and incest in Brown County.
Incest charges could not be pursued here in Clark County because the victim must provide an exact date as to when the incident occurred, which could not be done in this situation.
