Fairchild Man Will Appear in Eau Claire County Court on Thursday Regarding his Sexual Assault Court Case

-A Fairchild man will appear in Eau Claire County Court on Thursday for a motion hearing regarding a notice filed with the court during a status conference on Friday.Towards the end of 2013, 18-year-old Christopher Wampole Jr. and his father, 41-year-old Christopher Wampole Sr. had sexual assault of a minor charges filed against them after an incident involving a 15-year-old girl. The two men had additional charges filed against them including possession of child pornography and exposing a child to harmful material after they traded nude photos with the girl.
During a status conference on Friday, Wampole's attorney entered in a list of witnesses and an alibi notice for his trial scheduled later this month. The state argued that the alibi notice was not filed in a timely matter and moved for dismissal. The judge set a motion hearing for Thursday to decide on the matter.
Wampole Jr. was found guilty of 4th degree sexual assault, a misdemeanor, and child enticement-sexual contact and two counts of exposing a child to harmful material, both felonies a few weeks ago. He was sentenced to 90 days in prison, 60 of them stayed if he completes his 3 years of probation. He must also complete 240 community service hours and owes the courts over $500.
