Clark County Economic Development Corporation's Annual Meeting, Final

-The Clark County Economic Development Corporation held their Annual Meeting on Monday evening at the Loyal American Legion.

Sheila Nyberg, Executive Director of the CCEDC, said that they wouldn?t be able to do what they do without partnerships.

Jerome Krempasky talked about the Workforce Council and a project they?re working on.

Jerome said, "The Clark County Workforce Council is comprised of business leaders in manufacturing, banking, medical field, along with manpower, workforce resource, economic development and various school districts. In Clark County, employers are having a difficult time finding skilled employees. The Clark County Workforce Council is working to try and alleviate this problem. The Clark County Workforce Council is in the process of making videos at various businesses showing a variety of jobs and skills that are required to fill these positions. Eventually, these videos will be on Youtube and be available to the school districts to show to our students."

Tom Gorst talked about tourism in Clark County.

Tom said, "In 2005, we started doing the visitor's guide, the major ones, and now we have them in all the welcome centers in the state. And I believe that's 11 of them as come into the state. We have racks locally in Thorp and in Neillsville at the The Highground. We also distribute a bunch of these to chambers that ask for our information around the state."

Those present also heard a presentation from J.D. Milburn entitled ?Boy, Are We Connected.? The theme of the CCEDC?s Annual Meeting this year was ?Partners in Progress.?
