Memorial Medical Center Creates Strategic Plan for Moving Forward, Part 1

-Memorial Medical Center held a meeting on Thursday to explain to city leaders, business owners, county residents and others, what their strategic plan is moving forward.The plan came as a result of numerous meetings held in which MMC?s strengths and weaknesses and opportunities and threats were identified by the same group of people mentioned above.
Some of the strengths identified included compassionate staff, good providers, and 3 convenient locations. Some weaknesses included a high turnover, little OR space and poor billing.
Some identified opportunities included marketing, tele-medicine, and being cost competitive. Some threats included the Affordable Care Act, competition and lack of change.
In the end, after a lot of thought, a strategic plan was created that includes four parts: access to care, services developed, community partnership and financial strategies.
