Clark County Economic Development Corporation's Annual Meeting, Part 3

Thursday, May 1st, 2014 -- 11:04 AM

-The Clark County Economic Development Corporation held their Annual Meeting on Monday evening at the Loyal American Legion.

Sheila Nyberg, Executive Director of the CCEDC, said that they wouldn?t be able to do what they do without partnerships.

Deb Marg took a moment to talk about the newly formed Clark County Community Foundation.

Deb said, "We had our first organizational meeting on December 5th of last year. So, its been just under 5 months and the things we've been able to accomplish make me very proud of our organizations. In that short time, we've developed a brochure, our mission statement, of course, logo, that was something that seem to take a little longer than we had been anticipating. And also the 501(c)3 application to the IRS."

Pattie Kelnhofer talked about the new Omega Valley foods crafted right here in Clark County.

Pattie said, "In 2010, Omega Valley Farmers started taking some real solid shape and identity. It's owned by Heartland Cooperative services. The team took the concept of a specialized feeding program which would ingrain naturally occurring Omega 3's into the animal and maintain those levels to create the byproducts such as milk, cheese and meat. The primary focus was cheese when we started and it continues to be the mainstay of the program."

The theme of the CCEDC?s Annual Meeting this year was ?Partners in Progress.?
