Neillsville City Council Approves Police Radio Purchase

Saturday, April 12th, 2014 -- 8:24 AM

The Neillsville City Council approved the Neillsville Police Department?s request to purchase a squad car radio.

The Neillsville Police Department needs to purchase a digital capable radio for the secondary squad. With Clark County converting to a new, digital signal for communication, the department needs a radio capable of communicating. The council approved the department to buy the radio for $936.72 and the department will absorb this into their regular budget.

During the officer?s report, Police Chief Brad Lindner said the Officer Aumann was injured while arresting an individual and will be out for three weeks so the department is a little short staffed at the moment. He also said the officers in Neillsville all received some specialized training which the state reimburses them some of the cost for that. Finally, Chief Lindner mentioned that he?s received 3 applications for the parking enforcement employee.

Finally, Clerk-Treasure Rex Roehl talked about some upcoming meetings and said that the city is within the budget after the 1st Quarter.
