Pittsville Man Appears in Wood County Court Thursday for Standoff With Police

-A Pittsville man had an initial appearance in Wood County on Thursday regarding a standoff with authorities.Back in February, 26-year-old Randall Bakken fired a rifle at a residence in Pittsville, led authorities on a chase after leaving the residence, and then got out of his vehicle and had a standoff with authorities before finally surrendering.
Bakken has two cases against him, one dealing with disorderly conduct charges, resisting an officer and others for the standoff with authorities. He also has several OWI charges filed against him as he was intoxicated during the incident.
Bakken waived a preliminary hearing during his appearance for the OWI charges and a $3,000 cash bond was set against him. He will appear in court today for a pre-trial conference and arraignment regarding both cases.
