Spencer Village Board Fills Some Holes After Resignations

-The Spencer Village Board was able to fill some of the holes left after a rash of resignations.Three board members, President James Kilty, Ron Staples, and Dianne Gilbert, left after a meeting in March when they were unsatisfied with Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer Thaddeus Kubisiak?s response to several finance questions including the purchase of a pressure washer by a city employee, overtime hours and a paycheck issued to the assistant fire chief.
Pauline Frome was appointed as village president. However, her appointment does create another vacancy on the board and Spencer residents interested in running should submit letters of interest before the next village board meeting on April 21st.
Ron Staples' seat was filled by Harry Toufar during the April 1st elections. Staples had previously decided not to run for re-election and Toufar will be installed during the April 21st meeting.
At one point, Kubisiak had also planned to resign, but he rescinded his resignation with a letter dated March 27th.
