Final Items From Neillsville City Council Meeting

Tuesday, April 1st, 2014 -- 12:02 PM

-Taking a look at some final items from the Neillsville City Council Meeting last week.

Scott Bolstad, a representative of Senator Ron Johnson, appeared at the beginning of the meeting to offer the city council thanks on behalf of Senator Johnson for all the work cities do at the local level to make sure things are running smoothly.

During a report on a recent Fire Hall Board Meeting, Councilmen Chuck Glassbrenner commented on concerns he had heard from Neillsville residents about a recent call the Neillsville Fire Department responded to. A few weeks ago, the Neillsville Fire Department assisted the City of Greenwood with a fire at Wolf?s Sawmill.

People in Neillsville were worried that had something happened here in Neillsville, they wouldn?t have been protected. Mr. Glassbrenner said that was false. The city still had 10 firefighters here even after they sent 16 to Greenwood. They also had the necessary equipment here to fight a fire.

The council also heard the Historic Preservation Report from their recent meeting and Mayor Steve Mabie offered his congratulations to the Lady Warriors on their performance at state.
