Granton School Board Hears Update on School Website

-The Granton School Board heard an update on the district’s website at their recent meeting.

Art Teacher and District Webmaster Dana Klein delivered a presentation on School Website updates. She was praised by the school board for her excellent work.  Interim District Administrator James Kuchta also introduced Tanner Friedemann, the Student Council President. He gave a brief biography of himself. The student representative will give student related updates at regular school board meetings.  For agenda items, the board approved the 2019-20 End of Year Achievement Gap Reduction Report. The board also reviewed, updated and approved 15 School Board Policies related to instruction.  The board also reviewed the COVID Protocol and agreed to continue the Mask Mandate until the December Board meeting. The board will review Administrative and Health Team recommendations for COVID Protocol monthly during  the 2020-21 school year.

Finally, the board approved Theresa Hasz as the Delegate to the 2021 Wisconsin Association of School Boards Convention. The convention will be virtual.  And the board voted to continue Middle School Girls Basketball this year while a Strategic Plan is developed.  Finally, the board heard the Administrators’ Reports.  Principal Amanda Kraus provided an update to the board on Parent/Teacher Conference attendance rates and Virtual  Learning/Reinforcement Day participation.  Interim Superintendent Kuchta updated the board on the maintenance and facilities including the boiler plant control upgrade needs, parking lot upgrades and needs, greenhouse upgrades and Granton Community Child Care Center finances.
