During Neillsville City Council Meeting, Public Works Reminds Residents to Keep Running Water

Wednesday, March 26th, 2014 -- 11:35 AM

-The Neillsville City Council heard the public works report before their meeting on Tuesday.

During the report, Public Works Director Dave Flynn wanted to make sure residents of the city understood that they are still being requested to run a constant stream of water the size of a pencil lead. Dave stressed that the water stream be the size of a pencil lead.

Dave said that the city is already going through about 100,000 gallons more water than normal. That water goes through the treatment system which means an increase of cost to treat the water. If you?re running too much water, a stream bigger than a pencil lead, you?re only adding more strain on the system. He also wanted to remind residents to continue doing this until April 1st at a minimum, but it will probably be longer.

Dave also reported on the usual amount of work done in the city including snow removal, equipment maintenance, haul brush and compost, open storm drains and more. They also had to repair a separated sewer line and they haven?t had any water laterals freeze or break recently.
