Jackson County Man Will Be Sentenced for Beating and Choking a Woman

-A Jackson County man will be sentenced in May for beating and choking a woman.

In July of 2013, in the Town of Brockway, just east of Black River Falls, Brent Kampa, age 23, allegedly slammed a woman?s head into the dashboard and passenger window of a vehicle. He also allegedly choked her multiple times when they got home. Kampa had gone missing after the incident, but was arrested later that week.

Kampa has been charged with recklessly endangering safety, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation, threatening a victim, intimidating a victim and battery. During a court appearance Friday, a plea deal was reached and Kampa entered a guilty plea to a disorderly conduct charge and the intimidating a victim charge.

Kampa will now be sentenced on May 15th.
