Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves Base Wage Agreements

Friday, March 21st, 2014 -- 7:37 AM

-Wages were the main points of discussion at the Clark County Board of Supervisors Meeting on Tuesday evening. (3 absent)

A total of seven resolutions revolved around base wage agreements between the county?s Personnel Committee and different employee groups of Clark County. All of these resolution were approved with little opposition.

The base wage agreement for all the employee groups came out to a $.25 increase per hour. The increase was also described as a percentage and the percentage was the consumer price index. The consumer price index is 1.66% and a Wisconsin Statue does not allow the Personnel Committee to exceed that number. That number did vary with each group, but only because the base wage amount for each group was different.

Each group received the same $.25 increase per hour. The groups included the paraprofessional employees, the professional employees, the social worker employees, the courthouse employees, teamster employees and all non-represented personnel. The non-represented personnel was slightly different. They increased either $.25 per hour if not exempt or had an annual increase of $360 if exempt. But, once again, all of these equaled a $.25 increase.

Another one that was slightly different was the one for highway employees. The resolution states that the committee and highway employees came to an impasse regarding negotiations, so the committee offered the final $.25 an hour increase. The Clark County Highway Employees were not happy with this stating they tried to speak with the committee but continued to hit roadblocks and they were losing $130 in the first quarter as none of the pay increases, for any group, starts until April 6th.
