Neillsville City Council Approved a Bid to Refinance a Loan

Tuesday, March 18th, 2014 -- 11:04 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved a bid to refinance the city?s TIF District Loan #2.

The council received several bids including Citizens State Bank of Loyal at 2.9%, BMO Harris Bank for 3.7%, Associated Bank at 3.4% and Nicolet National Bank at 4.25%. Naturally, the council chose the lowest bid from Citizens at 2.9%. The city will repay the $181,500 loan over 8 years.

The council also approved the Neillsville Police Department to find a new Parking Enforcement Employee. The current employee, Dorothy Cook, will be resigning at the end of March. This position works 100 days a year for four hours and the individual usually sets their own schedule.

This position helps enforce the 3 hour parking rule in the downtown area and around the courthouse. Business owners like to have this enforced so apartment owners downtown don?t take up spaces that potential customers could use.

Also, the council approved the resignation of Melody Kuhn from the Heritage Days Committee.
