Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting, Elementary and District

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators' Reports at their meeting on Monday of last week.

Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor reported on Parent/Teacher Conferences that were held on February 19th from 4-6 PM and the ?Read In? that was held in the elementary on February 27th to celebrate Dr. Seuss? birthday. The Winter Activity Day, originally scheduled in February, was rescheduled for Friday, March 14th and Summer School course descriptions were due from teachers on Friday. Hunter Tyznik, an Owen-Withee 6th grader, won the local spelling bee and advanced to the CESA bee in Tilden held on March 7th.

District Administrator Bob Houts reported on the Clark County Board Forum that the District hosted on March 3rd. Assemblyman Bob Kulp fielded questions from area Board members and administrators. The District was notified that they are the recipients of a $3025 grant to start a school garden this spring and the Junior High and Senior High Student Councils will be attending an overnight trip on Sunday, April 27th and returning on Monday, April 28th.

Finally, Mr. Houts offered his congratulations to McKayla Simington and Albert Goerlitz on being named Kohl Scholarship winners. They will attend an awards banquet on Sunday, March 23rd at the Eau Claire North High School. Each will also receive a $1000 scholarship to put towards their college education next fall.
