Owen-Withee School Board Changed Language Determining Make-Up Days for Bad Weather

-The Owen-Withee School Board changed the language in determining their make-up days due to bad weather.With this year?s rash of bad weather, the Board wanted to change how make-up days were determined and where they would be during the 2014-2015 school year. A motion was made and seconded that the first two snow days will be forgiven. The third snow day will be made up on February 27th, of 2015. If the third snow day falls after February 27th, it, or the 4th snow day, will be made up on March 20th, of 2015. Any additional snow days may be added to the end of the school year at the Board?s discretion. The motion passed 5-1.
Also, the Board unanimously approved renewing the wrestling coop agreement with Stanley-Boyd for another two year cycle and they also discussed the Legislative Meeting at Medford. Every year Medford hosts a meeting where school board members can meet with area legislators and discuss education issues that are impacting their districts. The meeting this year will be held on Monday, March 31st. Owen-Withee Board Member Rick Eloranta indicated he will be attending the meeting.
