Illegal Tax Committee Meeting Before Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Illegal Tax Committee met before the Neillsville City Council meeting on Tuesday of last week.The former Eisner property, at 108 West 15th Street, had delinquent special charges and assessments going back to 2011. Those charges include $300 worth of weed trimming, delinquent water and sewer bills and the recent raze cost which ended up being over $12,100.
At the previous city council meeting, the council approved a bid of $7,502 for the property meaning the remaining cost needed to be written off as special charges and assessments. The Illegal Tax Committee approved it as did the regular common council.
The council also heard a report from a recent Heritage Days Committee Meeting. Discussion was held on possibly having a community picnic during this year?s events and possibly having activities downtown before Sunday?s parade. The report also stated that the Younger Brothers Band is booked for Friday night, the pottery piece will be a crock or cooler and they are working on the Heritage Days Poster.
