Clark County Health Department Holding Unite Against Bullying Events

Tuesday, March 4th, 2014 -- 11:45 AM

-Security Health Plan of Wisconsin Inc. awarded 17 non-profit organizations with Healthy Communities Mini-Grants focusing on three health areas that need greater attention: children?s health, behavioral health, and health literacy.

The Clark County Health Department received a grant to address the area of behavioral health, particularly focusing on anti-bullying campaigns in Clark County Schools.

Using available data, the Health Department and partner agencies identified bullying as an issue of concern among Clark County students and parents. To increase awareness of bullying and how to address this issue, all students county wide, Pre-K ? 12th grade and their parents, are invited to attend one of the Unite Against Bullying events.

The dates of the Unite Against Bullying events will be held on Monday, March 10th at the Thorp School District, Thursday, March 13th at the Loyal School District, Thursday, March 20th at the Colby School District and Thursday, April 24th at the Neillsville School District.

All 10 libraries in Clark County will be receiving a donation to purchase bullying prevention resources, with the goal of increasing behavioral health resources in Clark County. Parents are encouraged to visit their local libraries to access these free resources.
